The Israel Defense Forces has finished constructing a subterranean wall along the Israel-Gaza border: The barrier is designed to defeat efforts by Hamas to build tunnels under the border from which to launch terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers. In addition, Israel has constructed a maritime barrier to prevent terrorists from infiltrating the country from the sea. Israeli analysts believe the next war with Hamas is just a matter of time. The terror organization, de facto ruler of the Gaza Strip, frequently declares its objective to destroy the Jewish State.
Quote: “The concrete wall is just one component in the 60 km.-long barrier, which also includes a fence above the ground, advanced sensors both above and underground, and cutting-edge technologies meant to tackle the tunnel threat and stop terrorist infiltrations. Senior IDF sources told The Jerusalem Post that almost 95% of the barrier has been completed and that it will be operational in the near future.”
