Israel and Israelis Step Up to the Plate to Help Afghan Refugees

Despite the fact that Afghanistan, again under Taliban rule since August 2021, has expressed deep animosity toward the Jewish state, Israel and Israelis have been providing humanitarian assistance to Afghan refugees. They include Afghanis who’ve fled since the Taliban’s renewed takeover. The Taliban, for its part, has stated a willingness to establish ties with all nations in the region except for Israel.
 
Quote: “The 87 refugees currently residing in Albania are part of a larger group that was rescued from Afghanistan in October in an effort led by IsraAID together with a number of activists, leaders, and donors, including Israeli-Canadian philanthropist Sylvan Adams. Among them are judges, journalists, TV personalities, cyclists, human rights activists, family members of Afghan diplomats, artists, law enforcement officers and scientists.”
