The Jerusalem Gateway Project — also known as the Jerusalem City Entrance Project — is a massive development plan for the main entrance to the Israeli capital. The project includes 13 high-rise buildings, a business center, a major expansion of the city’s convention center, a large number of hotel rooms, and much more. Municipal authorities hope the development sparks growth in Jerusalem’s high-tech industry and bring many thousands of new jobs to the city.
Quote: “Along with the memory and preservation of its glorious history, we must always work for the development of Jerusalem, for its strengthening, for its transformation into one of the leading capitals in the world,” said Jewish National Fund Chairman Danny] Atar. “In these days of peace, the need to preserve and build Jerusalem is growing, making it attractive for the millions of people who will soon come to visit it.”
