A hypersonic weapon is one capable of travelling at hypersonic speed, defined as between 5 and 25 times the speed of sound (about 1 to 5 miles per second). They’re a frightening new addition to humankind‘s deadly arsenal, very difficult to defend against. Iran recently announced it has developed a hypersonic missile, although some observers are skeptical. Now Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems is working on a answer to such weapons.
