Israel’s Nanomedic Technologies has developed the Spincare System, a spray-on, breathable “skin substitute” for burns and other wounds. Nanomedic is a bio-medical company specializing in clinical research and electrospinning medical devices. Spincare is especially good for burns because it is contactless. The flexible covering — which is shot out of a hand-held medical gun — is being used by physicians in Europe, India, and Israel.
Quote: “Nanomedic, the Israeli company that designed the Spincare system, claims its device gives patients increased mobility — often essential for burn rehabilitation — and the ability to shower, a process that can be difficult with traditional bandages. The translucent layer it produces allows medics to examine the wound without touching it, the firm says.”
